NIPES Engineering and Science Scholarship for Undergraduates 2026

The National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES) is pleased to announce its N1,000,000 Engineering and Science Scholarship Program for undergraduate students. This initiative is aimed at nurturing talent, encouraging inclusivity, and supporting aspiring engineers and scientists across accredited institutions.

About the NIPES Engineering and Science Scholarship

The NIPES Undergraduate Scholarship is designed to support students studying engineering and science-related disciplines. The program also emphasizes professional development through learning, mentorship, and active participation in NIPES initiatives.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Total Scholarship Fund: ₦1,000,000
  • Amount per Recipient: ₦200,000
  • Duration: One academic year (2025/2026)

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited higher institution
  • Must be studying a science or engineering-related course
  • Open to students in 100-level and above
  • Mandatory: Completion of at least one free NIPES online course, with a clear explanation of skills learned in the personal statement

Priority Consideration

  • NIPES student members will be given priority
  • Non-members are encouraged to join NIPES to improve their chances

Selection Process

Personal Statement Guidelines (500–750 words)

Your personal statement should include:

  • Your background and educational journey
  • Your passion for engineering or science
  • Academic and extracurricular achievements
  • Challenges you have overcome
  • Your career goals and alignment with NIPES’s mission
  • Skills gained from the free NIPES course and how they support your academic or career development

Evaluation Criteria

  • NIPES student membership status
  • Quality and clarity of the personal statement
  • Demonstrated passion for engineering/science
  • Completion of a NIPES course with explained outcomes
  • Alignment with NIPES values and mission

Important Dates

  • Application Opens: December 15, 2025
  • Application Deadline: April 30, 2026
  • Final Selection: May 30, 2026

How to Apply

  1. If you are already a NIPES member, submit your application via the members’ application portal
  2. Non-members should apply through the non-member application portal
  3. Complete at least one free NIPES online course of your choice
  4. Submit a 500–750 word personal statement, including:
    • Skills learned from the NIPES course
    • How the skills apply to your academic or career goals
  5. Upload proof of enrollment, valid student ID, and NIPES membership number (if applicable)
